Rob Vargo grew up in Sterling Heights, Michigan, from humble beginnings. In 1987, he founded his first company with a small 10k loan which quickly grew into a multi-million dollar enterprise. By 1997, it was acquired by a Fortune 500 company.

With a passion for golf, Rob purchased Bruce Hills Golf Club in Bruce Township, Michigan, marking the start of his career in the golf industry. He fondly recalls the early days of learning the ropes, often spending late nights at the club, ensuring everything was perfect for the next day’s golfers. Over the years, he acquired and transformed several golf properties, including Beavercreek Golf and Banquets, which he rebranded as Myth Golf and Banquets. He remembers the excitement of the grand reopening, where the community came together to celebrate the new public golf course, complete with 27 holes, wedding facilities, and great food.

In 2008, Rob entered into an agreement with Hampton Golf Club, and in 2015, he purchased Golden Hawk Golf Club, a beautiful wedding facility with a championship 18-hole golf course and driving range. One of his favorite memories is hosting a charity peach festival tournament every year at BruceHills Golf Club, where he personally greeted each participant and shared stories over dinner.

At one point, Rob was the largest privately held golf company owner in Michigan, with 10 different properties. He often reflects on the journey, from negotiating deals to seeing families enjoy their time on the courses he developed.

Rob is a visionary who wants to leave a legacy for his children. Currently, three of his four children work as general managers and superintendent of the four properties he owns and operates. Through Vargo Golf, Rob is committed to providing quality service, food, and fun. You can learn more about his ventures at vargogolf.com.

Rob is also very active in a variety of clubs, including the Polish Century Club in Utica, the Wort Hogs Police and Fire Club, Macomb County community relations, and the Eagles Club. He loves participating in charity functions and is dedicated to donating to causes that support the homeless and children’s education.

He resides in Fairhaven, Michigan, and spends his winters in Marco Island, Florida. Throughout his 37 year career, Rob has also ventured into various other businesses, including a machine shop, restaurant, and landscaping company. He enjoys reminiscing about the early days of his restaurant, where he would occasionally step into the kitchen to help out during busy nights, and the satisfaction of seeing customers enjoy the meals.

Rob’s entrepreneurial spirit and versatility have defined his career, but it’s the personal connections and community impact that he cherishes the most.
